Cold Storage

Cold storage of fruits and vegetables was used extensively by our ancestors to keep food after the harvest season. In modern times, the year round availability of fresh produce in the supermarket has reduced the use of home storage. Cold storage equipment imports totaled US$ 12.0 million in 2004 and US$ 15.0 million in 2005. U.S. brands within this segment hold a combined market share of 66%, totaling US$ 7.9 million in 2004 and US$ 9.9 million in 2005.
