In modern times, the year round availability of fresh produce in the supermarket has reduced the use of home storage. Cold storage equipment imports totaled US$ 12.0 million in 2004 and US$ 15.0 million in 2005. U.S. brands within this segment hold a combined market share of 66%, totaling US$ 7.9 million in 2004 and US$ 9.9 million in 2005.
