Acrylic plastic refers to a family of synthetic, or man-made, plastic materials containing one or more derivatives of acrylic acid. The most common
acrylic plastic is polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), which is sold under the brand names of Plexiglas, Lucite, Perspex, and Crystallite. Statistics show that 2007 was another strong year for MMA. Global demand increased by over 5% to 2.9mmtes; the highest growth came from Asia with Europe also contributing a strong performance.
