Nanoceramic Powders
Ceramic powder is a necessary ingredient for most of the structural ceramics, electronic ceramics, ceramic coatings, and chemical processing and environmental related ceramics. For most advanced ceramic components, starting powder is a crucial factor. The performance characteristics of a ceramic component are greatly influenced by precursor powder characteristics. Among the most important are the powder's chemical purity, particle size distribution, and the manner in which the powders are packed in the green body before sintering. The total U.S. market for advanced ceramic powders in 2002, including nanopowders, was estimated to be 918 million pounds worth $1,605 million. This is projected to increase at an average annual growth rate (AAGR) of 7.3% to 1,178 million pounds worth $2,286 million by 2007. For 2002, BCC estimates that the total consumption of nanosize ceramic powders was about $154 million, and is expected to grow at an AAGR of 9.3% to $241 million by 2007.

The EPA recommends not more than 74 ppb (part per billion) in lakes, streams, or rivers, and not more than 0.1 – 2 ppm (parts per million) on surfaces of agricultural products (except dried tea, <24>

Contact lens
With over 31 million people wearing contact lenses in the United States alone, it is obvious that contact lenses are the number one choice for many people with vision correction needs.
In the early days of contact lens manufacturing PMMA lenses were produced with equipment of limited accuracy and polishing was used to give the lens its final surface and geometric quality. One of the important developments in lens manufacture was the introduction of high precision lathes in the early 1990s.

Rice Bran Oil
It is obtained from heat treatment of the fresh bran.
Rice bran contain about 18-20% of oil other constituents are oleic Acid 40-50% and 29-42% saturated acid.
Crude and edible oil are two grades of bran oil. It is used as a shortening. Rice bran wax is an important by-product of rice bran oil industry.
India ranks second in production of rice in the world and has a potential to produce about 12 lakh tonne of rice bran oil but currently produces only 7 lakh tonne of oil per annum. Satellite Receivers
A Satellite broadcasts a few watts of microwave signals from the geostationary orbit 36,000 kilometers above the earth. The transmissions are also broadcast over a wide "foodprint" area. The satellite signals suffer an attenuation of approximately 200dB, while making this 36,000 kilometers journey from the satellite to reception points on the ground. The satellite signals which finally arrive are extremely weak.
A dish antenna is used to collect these weak satellite signals over a large area - the surface of the dish. These signals are then focused by the parabolic curvature of the dish, to the focal point. Even at the focal point, the satellite signals are only a few micro-watts.
